Default JR TX & Spektrum RX

I have a 12X that works with the DSM2 RX. What current RX will still work with my JR? I know at some point either JR or Spektrum mad a protocol change, but can't remember which one.

Any current DSMX receiver is backwards compatible and will bind in DSM2

If you want, AFAIK, Horizon will still do a DSMX upgrade on your radio for $75.00 plus one way shipping. It will then be able to run either DSM2 or DSMX protocols. Gives you an opportunity to have them give the tx a service check as well.

I had my 12X done and still use it for some of my GS gassers with PowerSafe rx's.

I saw that after checking it out to see if it was already setup for DSMX, and may consider it. I have to look at my stash of RX, I may have a 12 channel RX for it already, but the reason for my OP was that I could not remember if it was JR or Spektrum who changed protocols. I have a couple DSMX that I use already, came with the DX8 that sits on a shelf collecting dust due to it dropping off at random. Nearly lost a plane with it, and shelved it since, switched everything to the JR that wasn't already Futaba, and never looked back. I split my air force between JR and Futaba now so that if my friend decides to come out to the field he can fly one of mine at the same time I fly. I can use the DX8 as a trainer radio if I ever need to, have an Apprentice for that, or the Futabas, have an 8FGS and 14FG that I have setup to train with my LT-40.

I have a B-25 Ziroli that will need more than a few channels, so am starting to look for RX for it. My Futaba S-Bus are already spoken for.

JR changed protocols to DMSS but that wont work with that transmitter.
