Have you looked into the Real Good Guide yet? There's a thread about it and advertisements on RCG. The author does a great job of explaining all kinds of things there, and has a big index that lets you find things by "how do I?" kind of searching.

Bisco, I'm new on this forum and apparently I'm not allowed to post URLs until I have posted ten times, but if you do a Google Search for "rathergoodguides" you'll find it under the Documents section.

I specifically wrote the Rather Good Guide® for both newcomers and experienced pilots -- there's a free 77 page sample that you might want to download first -- it has five pages of each of the main sections -- plus the table of contents, the table of figures, and the index so you can get a good sense of what's covered, how it's covered, and whether or not it's what you need.

Thanks for the kind words, AndyK!
Cheers

bisco, here ya go!! Check it out, it's good stuff! I'll be picking up a full copy myself very soon... I've been meaning to grab one... this is incentive now though.

Don't worry that it mentions the DX9.. it's very worthy of the whole DX family of transmitters... you'll learn more from that then we could write in this thread...

Kind words! Thank you. Look like I'm heading down the road of a Rather Good Guide for the NX10 and then the iX20 now! Never a dull moment in the spectrum of Spektrum.

Cheers

For a transmitter, when you turn it off it shows in the corner.

For a receiver, the Windows PC Programmer software using the SPMA3065 cable is the tool. PC or Mac, so long as you're running Windows.

You can also use a mobile app with either a Bluetooth adapter (BT1000) or SPMA3065 cable if your phone supports OTG.

Easy answer - PC and SPMA3065.

Good. For AR637T, AR630, or AR637TA you need version 2.07 in your transmitter.

for now, i'm flying my scs2 and aeroscout no problem. that will give me time to figure out how to get windows on my mac, or find someone who uses a pc.

hmm... you might need the update to get everything in good sync..., v2.0 was probably quite a while ago. Once you get your windows working and get the file on the SD card, you can right to the newest version of airware and load it. You don't have to load every version in between.

Do you know what receivers are in your planes? I'm glad it's now working a bit better for you.

thanks, maybe i will have to update. it works correctly in the sport cub S2. the aeroscout has an AR636
safe was on in all 3 modes. i could not bank the plane more than 30 degrees or so, and no looping.

someone told me to check the switch. sure enough, sport cub S2 uses switch D, and aeroscout uses switch B. i set it up. but didn't realize they would stipulate a different switch.
