Default Traxxas Rustler VXL Brushless. steering causes failsafe/low voltage mode

Hello, I'm new to this forum so let me know if this isn't in the right spot or if i do anything wrong. I'm having issues with my Traxxas rustler VXL Brushless. previous owner installed Castle Sidewinder SCT ECS and castle 100,000 rpm brushless motor. Problem is whenever i turn the wheels left or right it loses power and goes in to failsafe, this happens all the time including if I'm holding the front wheels off the ground. Ive tried a racers edge 5200 mAH lipo 7.4V bat and a traxxas powercell 8.4V NiMH 8000MAH bat. I personally believe it is the steering motor (not sure the technical name) is the problem considering my issues. if anyone has any help that would be greatly appreciated, or if anyone needs more details on the issue I'm having let me know. Thanks

While this is listed as a "Radio" forum, almost everyone here is a fixed wing model airplane pilot. I think you'd be better served checking out an RC Car forum;
