Just purchased a new Spectrum NX8 Transmitter. Are there any after market recievers available that would be compatable with the NX8 ?

Yes, there are plenty of compatible receivers. Look for 2.4 gHz receivers that are compatible with DSM2 or DSMX (also DSMP). Lemon makes lots of these type receivers; satellites, 6, 7, 8, 10 channels and with or without stabilization, telemetry, battery energy meters, telemetry, altitude reporting etc. Lemon makes a fantastic 7 gram featherweight 6 channel full-range receiver (LM0034Z) with diversity antennas (and a port for a satellite) for about $12.90 from Motion RC. Look at AltitudeHobbies.com or MotionRC.com for their list of Lemon receivers. Motion RC has rebranded a few older Lemon receivers to their house brand "Admiral" but the new Lemon Gen2 models are listed as Lemons. The Lemon high end 10 channel telemetry rx with a energy meter, two battery ports and altimeter is only $53 from Altitude Hobbies. I have used bunches of various configuration 6, 7 & 8 channel Lemons/Admirals in my planes over the years and have never lost a plane due to a bad Lemon receiver. However, for my high dollar gassers, I want at least two and preferably three satellite receivers, but Lemons only have one satellite port. So, for my high dollar gassers, I still use 8, 9, 10 or 12 channel Spektrum receivers with multiple satellite receivers.... just because.
