Default NX8 Transmitter Warning

I have an NX8 transmitter that sends out a warning after several minutes of flying a Turbo Timber Evolution with a 4S 50C Smart battery. The warning is: "Battery Not Charged For Flying! volts: 16.36v." When I check the battery with my Smart checker, it is at 94%. Why am I getting this warning?
I recently bound the plane to this transmitter. Does the Tx think that I'm flying a 6S battery?
Thanks in advance!

The ESC is doing this. Some of them on occasion do not send the right serial number down. When the transmitter finds that the serial number is different, it thinks that the battery has changed and so does the standard new-battery-startup checks.

Hi Andy,
Thank you for getting back to me. The plane is a week old. Is there any way to correct the situation? Do I just silence the alarm? Will the battery/plane function as normal (other than the alert)? Should the ESC be replaced and would this be a situation that falls under warranty?
Thanks, Gary

I would silence the alarm. I do not know what Product Support is doing about this. You aren't the first, and we (Engineering) have already notified the factory as to the cause but I don't know if they have corrected it yet.

I would expect it to be a warranty thing.

Thank you again Andy!

Product support is not admitting to any issues with the ESC. They are blaming the SMART batteries and suggesting reducing the battery voltage in the transmitter to keep it from alarming.

If you talk to them again, ask them to contact me for an explanation of what is actually happening. It's not the batteries. Yes, you can adjust some settings in the Smart Battery configuration screen in the Telemetry menu.

It's going to report as a new battery because the ESC told it there's a new one, and that bug is in the ESC.

I did forward your information to Spektrum customer service. Spektrum ended up replacing the ESC. Although, customer service made it clear that it wasn't a "warranty" replacement.

Thank you for your help Andy!
