FP-T6FG/K
Ok guys here is one for you.
I am looking to buy a:
FP-T6FG/K Tranismitter
Serial # 51102187
FCC ID A2P9L8 FP-TF-AM
72.750 MGZ
CHANNEL 48
w/ charging jack
w/ buddy connection
w/ removable antenna
This unit is in terrific shape. The owner is selling it with a brand new Great Planes Piper Kit. Did I mention how gorgeous this TX is.
Anyway, I have called Futaba. I have emailed Futaba[&o] and local hobby shops. Yes, I have looked at the webpages on Futaba, and many discussion forums.
I need to know if this radio is legal, or if it can be upgraded to become legal.
The owners manual for this radio is still available on the Futaba Website, however I have no response to any questions. I really want to buy this package.
I'm an engineer working with alot of electrical engineers whom R/C as well. None of us have figured this one out. The FCC pages I have read are not definitive.

It is simple to determine if you can use it. All Futaba FG's on AM were wideband when mfg'd. (From Futaba web site.)
Does it gave a gold sitcker on the transmitter frequency module? If the answer is no, then NO it is not legal!
No Sticker? FMI: http://www.radiosouthrc.com look under radio repair and the frequency conversion section.
Those gold boxes are nice, have 6 of them! 4 still in use. The other 2 are on ground frequencies and still wideband. (and not being used!)
Later!
