Default r/c system preferences

Something weird just caught my eyes browsing through the posts here.

It seems that most of you guys, mostly in the U.S.A. use JR or HITEC,
while in Israel, you wouldn't be caught dead with a HITEC system or servos!
they are known to be 1# crap! so most people just go for the FUTABA for reliability, couse JR are ridiculously expensive in Israel and most can't/won't afford it.

So, I'm puzzled, how are the three ranked in your country/club?

I see a lot of good things about HITEC's new digi servos, and NO FUTABAs what so ever.

Anyone has an explanation?

Here in central Minnesota, US, JR seems to be number 1 with Futaba in a close 2nd. However, I am seeing a lot of Hitec more and more. Especially for airplanes. Very little Airtronics.

I perfer Futaba transmitters, but use HiTec servos. In my opinion, HiTec is every bit as good as the Futabas I've used in the past but at a much lower price. Even my 25% SUkhoi features HiTEc digitals.

I have (and love) a Futaba 9C transmitter.

I use Futaba PCM receivers in my bigger glow and gas planes.

I use Hitec receivers in my Park Flyers.

I use Hitec Servos (digital and analog) in all my planes.

It is similar in the UK. A very few people use Hitec servos but no-one will go out in daylight with a Hitec Tx or Rx because of its reputation.

I can only speak for my state because I have never been to a model club interstate but in South Australia. They would be ranked JR No.1 by a long way then probably Futaba and HITEC. I would say the main reason for JR being so popular is that one of the main shops here is the Aus distributor for JR gear. Not that many places push the other brands.
