RE: AM & FM Same channel interfearance???
What's important is the CHANNEL, not the mode of transmission (AM, FM-PPM, or FM-PCM). Regardless of whether a transmitter is AM or FM, if it's on the SAME channel as another transmitter, a receiver will not be able to accept any control signals. A model in the air will go out of control and very likely quickly crash.

RE: AM & FM Same channel interfearance???
OK Will an AM radio inerfear with an FM radio on the same channel????
AM (Amplitude Modulation) and FM (Frequency Modulation) are two different modulation functions. Modulation is the way the radio carrier signal is modified to emulate the information content of the signal. The actual frequency of the carrier radio signal is the same for both (Channel 11 on an AM system is the same frequency as Channel 11 on an FM system is the same frequency as Channel 11 on a PCM system). Either one will interfer with the other because the RX will receive both signals at the same time and be unable to interpret the information.
BTW, this is essentially true for PCM (Pulse Code Modulation) as well. Some PCM systems are almost able to differentiate (filter out all but PCM) between modulations but I certainly would not like to risk my $1000.00+++ airplane on that fact.

This excelent article will tell you exactly why you can't operate two radios on the same channel, no matter the type. Lots and lots of good info in there, well worth the read for anyone.
