programming 9c for dual ailerons and dual elevators.
how can i program a futaba 9c to use seperate ailerons sevos and seperate elevator servos with a 7 channel receiver? Owners manual doesnt say how to do it unless you are using an 8 channel receiver with flaps.. I dont have an 8 channel and i dont have flaps ... Thanks

Separate ailerons - just run flaperon mixing.
For twin elevator servos, do a pmix 2 -5 at 100% in both directions. Be sure to NULL channel 5 in the Aux Channel menu and turn the TRIM option on when setting up the mix. That's how I do my twin elevator servo installations because the lag between the servos is decreased when using channel 5 instead of 8.

thanks...
o.k. if i do the pmix on 2-5 for the twin elevators. what mix do i do for the dual ailerons? do a pmix for 1-7?.. Or will I need to use the flaperon feature.. the problem i keep having is the ailerons are working the opposite elevator halves.
i think ive fried my brain reading the futaba 9c manual.. i think it was written in korean, translated to chinese, and then printed in english on a japanese printing press

FWIW
Simply use the factory default flaperon mix and ailevator mix. Every thing is default set-up for you.
If you have an aileron and or elevator working in the reverse direction go to the servo REVERSE screen and change the direction of the appropriate channel.

Racs,
simply use flaperon. if a servo is operating improperly, reverse that servo.
then use a 2-5 mix for your twin elevators. switch NULL mix 100% (or -100% if one servo goes the wrong way)
then go to aux-ch and set ch 5 to NULL so the ch 5 switch no longer works.
sorry you find the 9C manual frustrating. Assuming you have the US version, it wasn't translated from anything but rather written from ground zero. We spent a lot of time on it and tried hard to provide a great manual that will meet every users needs, but unfortunately meeting every user's needs is quite a challenge....

You use the ailavator feature and slave channel 8 to channel 7. It requires one extra mix if you have a 7 channel rx. No biggie to do, everyone does it (I didn't have to since I got the 8 channel rx so I can't give you a step by step).
The steps are in this forum you have to search for it. It was in the last 6 months.

I AGREE THE 9C MANUAL IS TERRIBLE! THE HITEC ECLIPSE 7 MANUAL WAS MUCH BETTER.

RE: programming 9c for dual ailerons and dual elevators.
I just got a new 9C, and I'm very happy with the unit. The manual is OK except for some typographical and logical errors that should be easy to fix. However, the manual has a horrible smell like it has been sitting in a damp cellar for several years. Also it should include more examples of various operations.

It's a two-part process. You use channel 2 for one elevator half, and channel 7 for the other. First you enable the ailavator feature which is in the manual, I just set one up (uses ch 2 and ch 8). Then you use one of your mixes to slave ch 7 to ch 8. That is also in the manual. I didn't need the extra mix since I have an 8 channel rx.
Just don't forget to set your endpoints the same on both channels 2 and 7, a common mistake (I did it).
This looks good too. Does not even use the ailavator feature. Just a straight mix using 2 and 7. Don't forget to set you endpoints on both channels the same: http://www.futaba-rc.com/faq/faq-9c-q512.html
As far as the ailerons, the flaperon feature uses channels 1 and 5 so that should be a no-brainer to setup.
