Default JR & Airtronics Xtal compatibility

Can I use a Tx Xtal from JR 388 in a Airtronics Vanguard transmitter of the same frequency?

Not likely. JR receivers are generally single conversion, meaning that there's no intermediate frequency as there is in a dual conversion receiver (such as Airtronics). Different manufacturers also use different crystal cuts. It's generally acknowledged that you can use a Hitec DC crystal in a Futaba receiver, though it's not always generally accepted as a safe practice. That's the only exception that I know of. Why not just buy the proper crystal?

I was speaking about transmitter's Xtals, not receiver's. I know that there is not compatibility between single and dual conversion receivers. Unfortunately Airtronics xtals are not available in Italy while Hitech are. Thank you.
