Default Brake Activation with JR X-378

Hello All,

I am new to the sport and learning to fly with an Eagle II ARF. As a winter project I will be building a H9 Cessna Skylane 182 that I hope to equip with brakes. I have a JR X-378 to use for this A/C. What switch/channel/setup on this TX should I use to activate the brakes?

Thanks,
Randy

First off the 182 wont have a need for brakes but if you would like them anyway I would plug them into ch 7 then use a free mix that is always on to mix elevator to brake (ch7) 100% on forward stick and 0% on back stick. This is the way the jets guys setup their brakes. When you want to brake on landing or while you power up for takeoff you simply apply forward elevator.

Hi,
Thanks for the info. I want to install the brakes for "effect" as well as functionality. I thought it might be a hoot to taxi to the end of the runway, set the brakes for a "mag" check, then power out for takeoff! Plus my long landings sometimes make me wish I had a way to stop shorter. I'm not real hip on having to walk down an active runway to retrieve my plane. I know, I know, land better.

Yeah, my advice would be to install a tail hook![&:]
