Hi, Just starting out in the big world of R/C electric flight. Iv'e got a skysport 6 transmitter and would like to know if you can use any Futaba receiver with it eg: 3 channel receiver or 8 channel receiver (not just 6 channel receiver)??????

Yes you can use any futaba PPM and many other makes of PPM rx with your Skysport. The rx needs to be on the same band eg 72 Mhz and with a suitable crystal to match the Tx Crystal. Obviously you will not get more than 6 channels even with an 8 ch rx.

So far as I recall the Skysport is not capable of PCM operation so will not work with PCM rx

Hope that helps
