Default Can I use a Hi-Tec crystal in an airtronics rx?

Hello; I have been trying to get an Airtronics ch. 36 reciever crystal since May. My dealer is doing all he can, but rather then give him an explanation, they send him the wrong channel.

Out of desperation I bought a ch 36 Hi-Tec crystal he did have in stock.

What will happen?

It's not likely to work, IMO. However it is possible with some manufacture's equipment to interchange crystals.

Contact a radio service facility for hands-on information. You never know...

You might try Radio South... And there are many other's.

Won't work.

RadicalRC's "Crystal Exchange" service may have something to help you. Worth a shot.

QUick question - are you using a PCM or standard FM receiver? How many channels? Z-connectors or the old style?

If you're not having any luck locating the correct crystal *and* if its FM receiver with Z-connectors *and* if you're desperate to get the plane going sell off the receiver in the Swapshop and pick up a comparable JR receiver & crystal. JR and Airtronics FM receivers are shift compatible and work flawlessly.

I have a JR 10X and an Airt Stylus, both on ch. 33... many JR & Airt receivers, some old, some new... haven't had problems with brand incompatability.
(Except for the time I plugged a JR-wired battery into an Old-Airt wired receiver. Oops. The Magic Smoke came out of some of the attached servos.)

if you go to hitec site the only thing they need to know is your reciever single or dual conversion and is it for aircraft usage.

I use hitec single conversion crystals in my Airtronics single conversion receivers - they work perfectly.

As for dual conversion receivers - can't say. Try it, do a range test and see if it works.

Heh. I use GWS single-conversion crystals in my JR receivers - they work perfectly.

Dual-conversion crystals are more specific.

your dealer should have known what kind or receiver you have and sold you the appropriate xtal, brand name does not matter

you must have a jr or airtronics xmitter.you must be sure whether you have a single or dual converion type receiver. (airtronics make both ).match it with the appropriate xtal. if that does not work something is broken.

Hello; I have been trying to get an Airtronics ch. 36 reciever crystal since May.
Surely a direct phone call to Airtronics (or shop online at airtronics.net) & a credit card would have gotten you one months ago???
