Dead receiver wanted
This is maybe a strange request. I'm into electronics (and R/C) from a hobby standpoint (spectrum analyzers, etc) and would like to experiment around with some FM receivers. They can be intermittant, crashed, dead, or whatever, just so they are cheap. I'd like to limit it to Futaba and Hitec for the time being. Any out there you don't want ?

RE: Dead receiver wanted
I appreciate that Dave and have sent you my address. I'm retired, lots of things to do, but have some good test equipment and SMT rework tools, and want to see if I can: 1) debug without schematics, 2) repair the equipment, 3) use it.

apteryx sounds like you'll have fun with it =) Probably a decent chance of repairing it to if you can pick up replacement SMT components.

RE: Dead receiver wanted
That's what the plan is. I know I have the passives and if it gets into one of the custom logic chips, maybe I can find another dead unit. Anyway something to try, I've successfully tinkered with some very small handheld transceivers (with schematics). Sometimes they can't be fixed (unable to determine the problem or can't locate a custom part) and most of the time it's not worth the effort to a repair shop, but I look at it as a challenge. Keeps my visual and manual dexterity skills honed for a while longer.
