Default Receiver compatibility with RD 6000 TX?

I have an RD 6000 TX and two Airtronics receivers and two futaba receivers. Will the Futaba RX work with the Airtronics? Will any other RX work with the RD 6000?Are RX crystals workable from one receiver to another? Thanks, new to the radio TX RX combo possibilities.[sm=confused.gif]

In North America, Futaba and Airtronics don't mix, unless your Tx has the ability to alter the default frequency shift. I don't know if the RD6000 can. Any Rx utilizing positive shift will work with the Airtronics.

By default, Futaba and Hitec utilize -ve shift. Airtronics and JR utilize +ve shift.

Many of the newer computer Tx's are capable of selecting frequency shift, thus making them compatible with almost all models of Rx.

I just looked at the manual for the RD6000. Page 24 describes how to alter the frequency shift. They use the term "PPM reverse" to implement negative shift.

Therefore, your RD6000 should work with your Futaba Rx's when programmed correctly.

Also, I forgot to answer your other question. You should never swap crystals from other manufacturers. Always use the same brand of crystal as the component you are placing it into. Sometimes it will seem to work, but it isn't worth the risk.

yes your recievers will work with the RD 6000 you just need to change the shift to negative as mentioned by strato911. It is a great feature and I wish other radios incorperated it.

Just an FYI, Hitec also makes a reciever that is able to switch from positive shift to negative shift, right at the receiver. I think it's called the supreme 3800 or something similar.

Your airtronics can handle any receiver brand there is.. so get the crystals and go flying
