Default Tail bouncing problem

Problem – Tail will bounce when a quick tail response is given to the point which will cause the tail to bounce back to the original position or several inches from the stop position.

If I give a quick tail turn input (say 90 degrees either direction) the tail will bounce back on me causing me considerable problems with orientation and possible loss of the model. The tail has bounced back to the original position, or just several inches from the requested stopping position.
If I give a gentle tail turn input I have no problems with the model and this bouncing will not occur.

I do not know how to fix the problem.

I am flying a Shuttle ZXX with an OS32 motor (recently reconditioned by supplier) with a Hitec 605MG tail servo (5.5kgּcm, 0.16sec/60deg). I crashed the model last week due to this problem and have rebuilt only to find problem remains. I have not modified the model servo set up positions from that recommended in the Hirobo manual. I have the tail end points set to 100 at both ends, no mixing, no sub trims, all settings on radio set to normal zero settings (3810 radio). I am using the conventional 20mm (approx) diameter servo arm that comes with the servo and have the ball link in the centre of the arm (giving me a 7mm projection). I have repositioned it to the edge of the arm (giving me an 11mm projection) and I still have the problem.

Have you try to adjust the gryo you are using? The bounce you just describe, it means you turn the gain of the gyro too high. Try turn it down a bit and this will stop the bounce but not too low or the tail will drift .

Yes I have tried this.

I began with about 80% gain, I am currently down to about 40% gain. I have been progressively reducing the gain but at this moment no success.

What type of gyro is it? The 605 is a little bit slow for a HH gyro. If there is any binding in the control links it can cause all sorts of thing to happen. Slop can also cause this to happen. Did you replace the links after the crash??
