9CAP is reversed
I charged up my new 9c and tried the controls to my 4 channel Futaba fm flight system of my plane. I found every control servo reversed. My futaba 4 channel Tx (that came with the plane) has worked fine. I reversed all contols in programing of the 9C to make everything work right.. Is that all there is to it? I wonder why the 9C was reversed from the start. Was that just the luck of the draw or should I be looking for some other problem? Very nice radio though...:-)

RE: 9CAP is reversed
In the "old days", we thought in terms of "normal" and "reversed" but with the new computer radios, there really isn't such a thing.
You just wiggle the sticks and if they don't go the way you want, you push buttons until they do.
Today, normal is simply what you call something going in the correct direction, and reverse is what you call something going in the wrong direction.
The difference from radio to radio is moot; they're just different.

RE: 9CAP is reversed
Thanks all for your replies. "Normal" is what i expected when I turned on the 9c. I guess I thought since the 4 channel I was using was Futaba, that somehow the new Futaba 9c would be transmitting the same "orientation".
I have had over 24hrs to study the manual and I see now that (as y'all say) it's whatever you tell the Tx to do that it does. (still a great radio)

RE: NEWSFLASH
Servo placement and direction go hand in hand. Install the servos the "right" way and no reversal is needed. However, the widesread use of reversal allows greater freedom in design.

RE: 9CAP is reversed
Just depends on how the switches were set. It could have come with them all the other way and you would have never known. That is why you check the plane you have set in memory every time you turn it on, and then before you take off, check every surface to make sure it goes the right way. When you start using radios with multiple plane memory, if you don't get in the habbit of checking which plane you have set, eventually you will start it and try to fly with the wrong one and everything will be backwards. They are great radios, but easy to make dumb mistakes.
Have fun, you will like it.
