Not impressed with Futaba 3010S servo
Only for one reason: slop in my elevator after installing it on my FuntanS. Ticked me off after going to all the trouble of installing it and now I want to return it. I just can't tolerate slop from a servo. I thought it was my linkage but it turned out to be the servo. Anyone else have this experience? I liked it because it was high torque and light weight. Maybe I should try the 3305.

Can someone please explain to me once and for all what exactly is slop?
Joe, you used 2 3010s right? Was the slop in both or just one?
Thanks

Well I think I'll just leave them on. I'm too lazy to take them of return them and do the whole installation again.
And, lol, sorry I didn't realize that using the slang word "slop" would confuse anyone but I forgot there are people from all over the planet in this forum. I'm sure you will hear that word alot around here.
Slop in my case means that the elevator wiggles around a little bit when you grab it with your hand (power off). I traced the majority of it back to the servo. I little was in my threaded clevises on the control rods but that can be fixed with little jam nuts. The servo has more slop than I'd like it too. A technical word for slop in mechanical drive systems is "backlash". We use that at word at work all the time (robotics and automated machinery).
