Default TX with 5th Proportional Channel

I am trying to decide on my first transmitter. I'd like it to have enough growth for aerobatics (possibly 3-D). My main requirement in the short run, for a trainer I am putting together is a 5th proportional channel (to dial the gain on FMA's co-pilot).
Do I need to go to a 7 channel setup, or are there 6-channel TX that will do a 5th proportional channel?

All the major brands have good values in 5 and 6 channel transmitters. Go with what is most popular in your club and you will get better and more informed advice should you need it.
