Two. A 9CA(F) and a 6DA. The rest I've given away or donated to the club. 'Course, they were old AM's (I just got back into this a couple years ago).

Receivers, on the other hand . . .

Up to a few years ago, I would typically have one per airplane flying which meant at one time I had 9 radios (mostly Futaba 7FGK's).
When computer radios came on the scene with multi-model memory, I happily trimmed that down to just a couple 8U's.

Now, thankfully, I'm down to just one 12 channel radio that has a 6 hour battery and 36 model memories and enough programming power to fly anything I have or will have in the future (synthesized EVO/12).

I am now a happy guy having to take care of just one transmitter and it's one battery. Life is good.

Two - An RD-8000 and my old Vanguard-6 (buddy box for those who want to learn to fly on my equipment)
Computer radio's are great for simplifying our transmitter situation.

Hi,

Started off with a Futaba 2ch system. Then on to a Futaba 4ch transmitter. Next was my first computer radio, a Hitec Eclipse. Finally I have a JR 3810.
With all these radios I never had any problems and were all reliable.

I have 33--yes I know I am sick. In addition to 33 transmitters I have about 45 receivers and 200+ servos.
My wife just says why don't you go buy some toys and off I go.

Default NICE with four KNOBBIES...

Dear RonWC:

The PIPE Here once more...NICE photo with four KNOBBY radios on your "bench" amongst the dual stick ones!

I've got ONE completed MicroStar knobby radio so far, with another MicroStar enocder and Ch.07 FMA/Jensen RF deck for the next knobby one already...TWO Ace Silver Seven knobbies in need of work that I built back around 1980/81...and THREE ProLine Custom Competition six channel knobby radios in need of MicroStars as well!

Not to mention a "southpaw" Ace MicroPro knobby radio that I MAY sell later this year...AND I still have the complete BROWN vinylclad sheet metal case to my very FIRST radio, a Heathkit "Pack-17" five channel knobby that COULD use a MicroStar AND all new control assemblies in it...so I guess that makes up a total of NINE KNOBBY RADIOS for my future use...or PERHAPS even if I marry, someday, a lady that WOULD like to try one variety of RC hobby (does NOT have to be planes...could be helis, boats, "whatever", SHE may get a knobby or two from that "three-quarter dozen" knobby radios for her use, that I DO have in various states of refit or repair!

Just canNOT beat the NICE user interface that only a KNOBBY radio can give an RC aeromodeler!

Yours Sincerely,

The PIPE!

Here's a shot of some of the SS I fly - don't really modify - the Kraft and EK are gold stickered AM - the rest are FM/PCM -

Three.
Futaba 6XAS x 2. One is mode 3 for me, the other is mode 2 for my instructor.
Hitec Laser 4. Not using TX. Got it as cheap as a flight pack. Probably will eventually give it away.
