Default Anyone up to a challenge for programming 8UAF?

My BTE Flying King has 7 servo's in it (2 for ailerons, 1 for the flaps, R,E,T and camera shutter release). I want to hook the flaps up to a 3 position switch (such as switch G) so that I can have the following:

A) Flaps off,
B) 1/2 flaps (mixed with some down elevator) and
C) Full flaps (mixed with more down elevator).

My understanding of how to set up the radio is limited. I know what I want to do but not how to do it! I need a "Programming for Dummies" book where it tells you 1 do this, 2 do this and so on.

So anyone want to tackle my flap set up in simple terms?

Cheers

Mike

On the 9Z you can do this by assignig a 3-pos switch to be the controller of a channel. No such luck on the 8U, so you have to do it the hard way .. you use two PMIXes .. both OFFSET .. one is activated at the mid switch position, the other is activated at the low switch position, and this will get it done, though not very elegantly...

You may also need to use ANOTHER mix to disable the control (e.g. a knob) that controls the channel in the first place .. the old "mix it with itself with -100 mix rate" solution .. well covered in the programming book.

Take a look at the Futab FAQs page for the 8U series radio. You'll find what you need listed step by step here.
