Default futaba 9cap

I have just recently purchased a futaba 9cap, for airoplanes, transmitter came with low band chrystal, and module, but I really have know knowledge on what reciever I need to purchase for this unit, It has been years since I have used one of these. I am curently in the prosess of building a top flite giant scale corsair. Could anyone tell me of what type of reciever is needed, some series are fp 149dp, or r149dp, or do I even need a 9 channel reciever, I am confussed, just need a little heads up before I make the purchase!
Thanks
D M

I also recently purchased a 9CAP for airplanes. The receiver mine came with is a R149DP. The 9CAP can transmit FM or PCM so you could also use a FM receiver. I think the FM receivers only do 8 channels but the PCM receivers do all 9 channels.

Do yourself a favor and get the 149DP on the low band! The reciever is PCM which is a digital type signal.the analog vertion is called a 149df.Unlimited mixing possibilities with the 149DP and the 9CAP!!!

You can use any futaba receiver that is on the same frequency as the transmitter (except some of the very old models)

Some I would recommend are:
R127DF
R138DP
R148DF
R148DP
R149DP
R309DS

Hey Geist, are you sure about using the 309DS RX on a 9C? I thought it was only used for the programmable 9Z

I use the Hitec Electron 6 reciever due to its' small size and light weight with my 9c.

You can select the transmitter channel on the receiver and it will work.
WHile the receiver will still work on other channels, it will only work on one channel with a single channel transmitter.

also, that extra channel you get on pcm is only a binary one, no proportional control, so it is of limited use, basically smoke or gear only.

It's a loaded antenna that's only about 6 inches long. Easy to hide in my shocky.

OK, if this is a whip antennae, I have used them and like them.
