Default Hitech digital servos

It seems that I read somewhere that you can set these up with the programmer to rotate 180 degrees at max throw? If that is the case is it even a good idea? If not how is everyone setting them up for large throws like for 3D?

I can't remember but isn't "normal" throw 45 in each direction, resulting in a 90 degree arc?

180° would seem to have all sorts of wacky geometry problems... Just get torquier ones and put some super wide arms on em.

180 deg. would make a nice retract servo.
