Default Newbie Questions on Servos

Hello all, I'm new to RC and have some basic questions. What exactly is a servo horn, and what is a servo saver? How do I put on a servo saver to a servo? If you could add some pictures to what you are saying it would be greatly appreciated! Thanx Again!

Default RE: Newbie Questions on Servos

The servo horn is the lever that mounts atop the servo output shaft. It uses the rotary motion of the shaft to drive a pushrod. A servo saver is an arrangement of tiny springs with retaining collars that provides shock absorbing capability. Do not use them on flight controls. The only need for them is on nosewheel steering and they make it very hard to center the nosewheel alignment.
