Default changing channels. Is it safe?

Is it safe to change crystals on different transmitters? I got 2 transmitters. One with crystal 52 and the other one doesn't have a crystal but the sticker says channel 18. So I was wondering if it is safe to fly with the second transmitter and the channel 52 crystal. Please reply if you know more about the matter. One more question. Do the transmitter come factory-tuned? if so how can you re-tuned to a different channel?

no it isn't safe, tx's do come factory tuned, and to retune you need both an FCC license and a fair amount of equipment. you can send it back to futaba for factory retuning though...

Thanx for the info. I guess I'll just buy a new set of crystals on channel 18 .
