Default Voltage Range for the 9C

Does anyone know if the Futaba 9C can be powered by a three (3) cell lithium Poly pack. The peak voltage of a 3S pack would be 12.6 volts.

Thanks

That seems too high to me. Considering the regular pack is 9.6-12v. I wouldn't risk it. Replacement batteries are cheap... replacement 9C's aren't.

I thought someone made a lithium TX pack? I can't remember where, maybe run a search and see if you find something.

its going to be very close though, a fully charged 8 cell nimh tops out over 11 volts already, so why not just put a diode string in there to drop the voltage a little...

I have had one in mine for almost a year. No problem. They are all made to work off of alkalines which are also 12 volts. The battery in my 9c is from Duralite. I have used others in different transmitters with no problems.

Ditto on the Durallite. It has a regulator.

Please use proper charging procedures and the proper charger for your Li-I batt.

Why would you want to?

I can see LiP's used in small planes, but why buy problems for a transmitter? Inquiring minds want to know.

A decent 1650 mah Nimh Tx batt is a fraction of the cost of a 1300 mah Li-I batt, plus its safer

See how long your Nimh last when it is 15 degrees out.

NOT quite... Duralite uses their charge safe circuit, no regulator is in place...

You'll see somewhere near four hours use with the Lithium-Ion cells.

Poly is not used by anyone for TX batteries to the best of my knowledge.

From what I understand, the 9C uses regulators to get the voltage it needs.
I don't see where it would be an issue but you need to check with Futaba

How much do you want to put on it?
