Default Changing a Radio FREQ

Hi I need help,

A buddy and I each bought a Firebird Commander. We are both able to control each others plane. Is there any chance we change
the signals so we can fly together?

I don't think you can change the frequency your self. I would take one back to the Hobby Shop and explain your dilemma. They may be able to swap out the transmitter and receiver to a different channel for you.

Good luck

It is illegal to change the transmitter crystal "in this country". You have to be a licensed tech to do it.

That said, get a pair of crystals (transmitter and receiver) for the correct band (27 mhz AM or 72 mhz FM) and the channel you want. They just plug in.

too lazy to go dig out the controller for my firebird, but I'm fairly sure it is on 27mhz, which is a fun freq to be on because it is wide open to all RC, ground, air and water.

there is no way you can easily swap on the firebird. electronics are integrated, and the controller doesn't have a removable crystal anyway. your only option, if the hobby shop won't help you out, is to buy a new tx and electronics board. (or at least that is how it was with my firebird original)

No such thing exists, this was eliminate years ago. I think the term certified is used.

If you can get the crystals I would go ahead and swap them. It's just not a critical issue on 27 Mhz.

Regardless, I seem to recall that on 27MHz you don't have to be licensed or certified to swap crystals in the transmitter. Other frequency ranges are a different matter. If, as stated, the transmitter has the frequency determining "stuff" built in, swapping transmitters and receivers, possibly through a hobby shop or another user would be the only answer.
