Default 9CAP dual elevator setup?

I have been trying to setup the second elevator with my 9cap, and can't figure out what I am doing wrong. I have a 7 channel reciever with the ailerons plugged into ch-1&5. Aileron mix works fine.

I have the second aileron hooked into ch-7. But, the elevator keeps operating with the ailerons. How do I set it up with the other elevator, but not with the ailerons. I set the ailevator mix to 0%, so the elevators won't move with the ailerons, but I can't get the second elevator to mix with the first which is on ch-2.

Please help.

I figured it out. For those intersted....

You go to the "program mix" selection and setup AUX-1 as a slave to Elevator master. Then adjust the mix 1: -100%, 2: -50%, 3: 0%, 4: +50%, 5: +100%. Then activate "ON".

You can the go to each channel and set the trim and endpoints as necessary.

Way cool.

OK, you need to use one Pmix and Ailevator.
Turn on Ailevator. This will mix channels 2 and 8. (yea, I know you don't have 8)
Then you want to go to you AUX menu and turn off the input for AUX 1 & 2
THe go to your PMix and mix Aux2 to Aux1 link and trim both on.
It will now work!

You're right, that works too. My first way also works. I went to the Futaba-RC website and found out how to do it under the FAQ section. My instruction book even referred me to it. Either way works just fine.

I am surprised how many neat things I can do with this radio. I will probably never use all of the functions.

I feel the same way. THE only reason I moved up from the 8U's to the 9C is that it took a mix to turn off the aux controls. THe 9C lets you to turn them off or redefine the aux input. The one feature that would be nice is to be able to be able to turn off specific channels on the servo cycle. I like to cycle my servos with the plane running and since I have my choke connected, it turns off my engine.

So will the above work with the 7 channel receiver? Or only an 8? I thought he said he has a 7 channel receiver.

Yes I do have a standard PPM 7-channel Rx for the plane I am working on. I don't like to spend so much on 9-channel PCM Rx's when I only 6 channels for this plane. It is a smaller .60 size ARF. My nice planes have the good PCM Rx's.
I just set the Radio for PPM, and I used the above setup for the Rx.

The radio is set up to make use of a second elevator servo easy by pre-designating Ch-8 for this purpose. But, if you have only 7-channels, then you have to do a little more to program the mix on another channel, and set it up as a slave of the Ch-2 (elevator).

No pest at all, in the above example, 2 and 7.
THe 2 and 8 mix is built in and called Ailevator. It has a lot of nice features that you can use or turn off. THe PMix is for 8 to 7 where the signal will come out.

Keep in mind that when exceeding 100% of the throw setting on any mix it will only affect the master not the slave..Ex: IF you run dual elevators and have the elevator channel set @ 140% then the master elevator will be @ 140% but the slave will only be @ 100% and will go to a value no higher... Found this out the hard way trying to figure why my loops got more spirally the tighter I pulled them... Just a little insight on it...

Default RE: 9CAP dual elevator setup?

Just figured out another way to do it. I shut off the aileron mix and hooked it up as follows.

Ch-1: Right Aileron
Ch-2: Right Elevator
Ch-3: Throttle
Ch-4: Rudder
Ch-5: N/A
Ch-6: Left Aileron
Ch-7: Left Elevator
Sw-F: Throttle cut

I just mixed the ailerons and elevators manually to get the settings and throws I prefer. Works perfectly. The throws now are actually a little too much, so I will be setting up a dual rate for all surfaces to various switches.

I just finished setting up my FuntanaS 90 last night, and I had to tackle the same issues. I also used a 7-channel Rx but set it up like this:

B - Battery
1 - Rt Aileron
2 - Rt Elevator
3 - Throttle
4 - Rudder
5 - Lt Elevator
6 - Battery
7 - Lt Aileron

I used a Li-Ion battery that has 2 power leads, hence the 2 separate connections to the receiver.

I used PMIX1 to mix Elevator to Gear, trim on and that's it. Quick and easy. Just be sure to do as Geist says and go to AUX menu to turn off the gear input, otherwise you'll be left scratching your head

Ch-6, extra battery. COOL!!

I have Ch-5 open on mine, and I need to add some weight forward, too tail heavy. Sounds like a good idea.
