i have a lot of 3003 servos in various planes. recently though, i seem to be stripping a lot of gears. the servos are not that old and the replacement gear sets seem to be even more brittle than the old. does anyone else have a problem with these servos or is it just me.

Just you. I have had some 3003's in my Super sportster for more than a year now and have had no problems at all.

Same with the 3004s I used that came with my radio. The throttle servo just kinda stripped one day on my trainer. Doesn't make much sense to me, how much torque is on the throttle servo?

Dunked my plane into the ground once , (not bad, flying again the next day) and 2 of the 3004s stripped out. Its like Futaba is making their gears out of paper or something.

2 weeks ago stepped back and bumped an aileron, bingo stripped 4 teeth of the output gear. didn't bump it that hard. i can't track down enough spares to keep up. looks like i will be changing the 3003's for something a little more sturdier.

3003s are just 3004s without the ball bearing
