Hitec Optic 6 QPCM
Is the Optic 6 radio switchable between FM and QPCM like the Futaba 7C, or do you have to stick with QPCM receivers if you have a QPCM transmitter?

The Optic 6 transmitter can be switched between standard FM (both negative and positive shift) and QPCM.
Model #1 can be FM or PCM, Model #2 can be FM or PCM, and so on.
Remember that QPCM is not compatible with other manufacturers PCM radios

Yes just as Dick said. Its also important to remember that all brands of PCM systems are propreitory and incompatable with any other brand PCM systems. In addition to that there are older and newer PCM systems at least in the case of Futaba and Hitec that are incompatable even of the same brand. In other words for your Hitec you can only use any brand FM(;PPM) or a Hitec QPCM Rx, The earlier Hitec PCM Rx will be incompatable.
