Default VG-6000 question

Hello, I have an Airtronics VG-6000 that I use for my airplanes. I also have a radio system for a small electric hovercraft(The radio is two channel and the receiver is 2 channel with a third for ESC.)

I am planning on building a glow hovercraft and this radio system will not do.

My question is can I use my VG-6000? Can I just buy a 3 channel receiver with crystals for a ground frequency?

Thanks

Not about north of the border, but in the USA the ground freq(27mhz) is not to be used by aircraft(72mhz) and aircraft freq is not to be used for ground.

Ground radios do not cost much for a basic setup so you could get one for almost the cost of the Rx and servos.

I am not sure if changing the 72 mhz to 27 mhz can be done without sending the radio to a dealer, you might try and see waht happens probably is the best (and cheapest) action to take.
Forstunately heer ther are so few rc'ers that we can use aircraft radios as surface radios
I am also interested in buidling a hovercraft do you have plans for It? or where to obtain tehm?

SwampFlier-RCU,
Great! Hovercrafts are awsome. I am currently building a glow powered griffon.
Are you interested in large, small, glow, electric?

Here are some links to some sites...

http://www.model-hovercraft.com/ -This is where the griffon plan is. It is the best place to start.
http://www.rc-hovercrafts.com/ -This is another great site. Check out Grunningers pics in the photo album for a glow griffon. (Thats what I'm aiming for). Also the forum there is the best place for Hovercraft info. Use the search feature.
http://www.gohover.com -This is my first hovercraft kit. I recommend the RC GH-2 or the GH-2 if you have the RC equipment.
http://www.hovercraftmodels.com/
http://www.rc-hovercraft.co.uk/
http://www.modelhovercraft.co.uk/

The Admin or Mods here on RCU have told me something about starting a hovercraft forum here. That would be great!
I hope the mods dont delete this because I mentioned another forum!

Good luck!!!

Swamp Flier,
did that help you?
Are you going to build a hovercraft? What's it going to be?
My recomendation is to build the Griffon 2000tdx from the plans at Mark Porters site( http://www.model-hovercraft.com )
Personaly I would throw a .40-.46 glow engine on it. Thats what I'm doing right now.
I am going to build it like grunningers model. He has a picture page at http://www.rc-hovercrafts.com
Here it is...
BTW Im building it out of coroplast
