I have very old JR Galaxy NER-J329M PCM RX
Anybody use Galaxy NER-J329M RX with 6V batt?
Any Problem????

I use the Galaxy rx on 6v but I use the JACCIO regulator and switch which regulates the rx voltage to 5.1. Usually the servos will buzz quite a bit on 6v. The regulator will prevent the servos from slowing down because the rx voltage is constant. Works good and thats a darn good rx too, however, I am using mine now with a JR 8103 tx on 6mtrs.

By all means, use the regulator. I have a Galaxy 329 and I roasted it with a freshly charged 5 cell pack. KMI got the business of jacking up the label and installing a new rf section under it. Pete Waters told me to either us 4 cells or a regulator. That was a costly lesson but the only problem I've ever had with a JR radio so far.

I actually have two on two frequencies and two modules. All this with a PCM-9 single stick.

But what is the benefit to replace with 6V RX batt.
4 cell gives over 5 V, and 5 cell with regulator gives over 5V.
It looks almost the same. Am I wrong????
Lately I bought 5 cell RX batt to increase servo torque.
But I just worry about burnning out RX or Servos......

I am missing.
Then, 4cell vs 5 cell with regulator, the big benefit is that the regulator prevents the servos from slowing down because the rx voltage is constant. Right?
But, according to regulator spec, there are three option 5.1V, 5.7
or 6V.
To increase servo torque with safty, which one is the best choice?

Good....none of them. If you need more torque, get a servo that has a greater torque rating. The advantage of 6v is to get a CONSTANT SERVO SPEED until the battery discharges to it's end point which is 1.1v per cell. 1.1x5=5.5v total battery voltage. Don't fly lower than this voltage as one or more of the cells could reverse charge and then the pack will likely be damaged to the point of unreliability. Also, if you have a PCM rx and it has a 'battery failsafe' mode, that function will never work because if the 5 cell pack voltage ever gets that low, you would have crashed at least 1/2 hour previously.

This means, use the 6v pack with a JACCIO regulator set to 5.1v.
Do not discharge that 6v pack below 5.5v at any time.
Do not use the 6v pack without a regulator.
If you need more torque, buy a servo that has more torque.
If you are a sport flyer, you don't need a 6v pack or constant voltage. A standard 4.8v pack is fine...why make more trouble & expense for yourself.
The previously mentioned servos with more torque will have more torque at 4.8v too.
Dont worry about it....ditch the 6v pack & go fly.
