Default digital servos

Hi,

I am generating the PWM to run JR digital servos myself. I wanted to know if the PWM frequency is 50 Hz (cycles of 20ms) as for normal servos, or if can be cranked up (and by how much) because of the microprocessor.

So far, two digital JRs have failed on me when running the PWM at 300 Hz. Is this why they failed? I have heard that if the Pulse Width goes outside of the ~0.9-2.1ms range, this can also damage the digital servo.

Any help is much appreciated.

THANKS!
