Radios and Frequencies
Hi all,
looking to purchase my first radio. I am lookin at the Futaba 7C series. I'll initially be using it
on my boat and at this time do not plan on flying with it anytime soon.
My questions are:
-FM or PCM?
-72 or 75 Mhz? Is there a reason I shouldn't get a 72 Mhz if I plan on ever flying with this radio?
Would anyone care if I use 72 at a lake to drive my boat rather than 75?
Thanks
-Sebastian

RE: Radios and Frequencies
Lots of reading here for PPM (FM) vs PCM. Do a search.
72 MHz is reserved for air while 75 MHz is for ground. Please do not intermix.
If you want a radio suitable for either, consider buying one with a module that can be switched so you can use both bands.

RE: Radios and Frequencies
think of it this way, you crash 'em, you buy 'em! makes buying a new boat pretty expensive when you are paying for someone elses $3000 airplane that your radio crashed...!
