Default Make a servo with just a battery no controller

I have a project that I need a servo to go back and fourth. I have a 9 volt hooked up to a 5 volt regulator and when I connect it to the servo it only moves it steps. Is there a way to trick it so it moves continuously?

Thanks,

Jim

I don't think you can make a servo move back and forth without a device to send it pulses of varying lengths. there are "servo driver" devices that will do this for under $50 but I don't think there is any trick to accomplish this with really simple means.

Thanks, I wasn’t sure of the term to find these things. I found a schematic

If you have a link to a off the shelf item let me know.

Also I need this servo to lift a visor in a Airwolf helmet. The servo needs to be high torque and fast. If you have any suggestion please post a link.

Thanks,
Jim
