FUTABA 7C Overseas?
Hi,
I am a newbie to the R/C world and just have just a couple of questions if thats okay?
1) I am visiting the US on Monday for 3 weeks. If I purchased a Futaba 7C and brought it back to the UK would I be able to change the crystals to the UK frequency of 35/40MHz?
2) I am in the process of building a R/C car but would also like to learn heli in the near future. Can I use this radio for both rather than having to buy two radios?
Many thanks
Warren

RE: FUTABA 7C Overseas?
No, to change a 7C from 72MHz to 35/40MHz requires a lot more than just a crystal change.
You'd be much better off to buy a transmitter that uses an RF module (something like the Hitec Optic 6 or Futaba 9C.
These transmitters can be converted to 35/40MHz use simply by purchasing a module on that frquency when you return to the UK.
Of these, the Futaba is a far more capable transmitter -- but the Hitec is a lot cheaper and still every-bit a match for the 7C - in fact it is much more ergonomic.
