Default Perplexing Servo Jitters !!!!!!

In setting up my throttle servo I have experienced a case of servo jitters that I can't figure out. My Hitec HS 325 is plugged into a Hitec Supreme receiver and when the stick on my Airtronics VG 6000 is positioned at idle the servo jitters and continually hunts for a position to stop at. Works fine when stick moved to full throttle position. I tried an old Airtronics Vanguard transmitter that was sitting on the shelf and everything worked fine. So now I think the problem is in the VG 6000 transmitter , so I remove the case and check the gimble and tighten up all the little screws. Try it again and same problem. Try it again with the old Vanguard transmitter and it works fine.
So now I think I'm going to have to send this fairly new transmitter in for repair, when just out of curiosity I switch the HS-325 with an old Airtronics standard servo and lo and behold it works fine with both transmitters. Smooth operation at both extremes of travel and no jitters. So now I'm relieved that my new VG6000 is OK but am totally baffled as to why the HS-325 servo behaves the way it does with one transmitter but not the other????!!!!! Anybody out there care to comment or have had a similar experience?
