Broken aerial
Hello
I recently had a really poor landing with an energy absorbing cartwheel finish that broke the end off of my wire aerial. It was on a Aerobird Xtreme. I know this will adversely affect range, so I am hoping to repair it ASAP.
Can anyone tell me the proper legnth of wire for a 27.255mhz receiver? Also, what type and gauge of wire is acceptable? Can I just splice in a repair legnth of wire, or do I need to replace the whole aerial? Thanks for the help.
Brett

RE: Broken aerial
Hi Brett,
If you have the broken piece, just measure it. Make the aerial back to the original length by soldering on a replacement piece. The grade of wire is not important electrically, but from a practical point of view, it is better to use wire as close to the original as possible.
Regards,
John
