Default 27 mhz question...

I bought a small electric plane off of e-bay. Really nice plane but I noticed it operates on the 27 mhz band. A couple of questions. First, Is 27mhz for airplanes legal in the US. Second, It's 27.025 am. What channel would that be. Any info would help...

That frequency does not appear on the AMA listing at http://www.modelaircraft.org/comp/frequency.htm

Don't fly a plane on that frequency.
That is CB channel 6.

That freq. is legal for airplanes, BUT, it is also legal for cars and model boats as well. that makes it a little
easier to get shot down.

If it were 27.045 it would be Channel 2. Most of the 27 mhz radios I have seen in the US are FM. Based on your post, that appears to be an AM radio.

Don't worry about the channel, just fly, but stay away from the highways where CB radios are most commonly used. If that is a CB channel you could have problems. However CB is not used as much today as it used to be so you may have less chance of a problem.
