JR 950s receiver

Default JR 950s receiver

HI all does the JR 950S receiver take the standard crystals or do they have their own specificate crystal, why does the 940S have a red crystal ?

Default JR 950s receiver

The 950 uses standard grey JR FM crystals.

The 940 and 945 use red crystals because they are dual conversion receivers and need a different oscillation value.

Sometimes if you mess this up the receiver can still move servos on the bench, but it will fail at range and you will crash.

Also, only use JR band crystals with JR receviers.

FWIW GWS single-conversion crystals work flawlessly in place of the standard JR 'grey-cap" crystals, and cost half as much.
