9CAPS Output
How much power should this (or any) transmitter put out?
While visiting a field for the first time a few weeks ago I lost a .60 sized Matt Chapman Cap580 due to what I thought was hits. A guy at the field a had a meter said I was only putting out 29 or so DB, not knowing what was good, I thanked him and went on my way.
The next week at my home field, my UltraStick had a split second HIT at about 2 feet WAO. Not too much damage due to the close proximity to the ground and low angle of impact. Coincidence? I think not.
These aiplanes were at different fields, with different flight packs on different days, the only common denominator was the TX. A friend let me borrow his 9CAPS so I just copied the models to the module and have been using his transmitter without issue.
I have sent the TX back to Futaba but havent heard anything.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

RE: 9CAPS Output
OK, The maximum legal output for transmitters in the USA is 750mw.
Futaba 9C radios usually put out about 500mw of power.
This output is good for farther than you can see your plane.
I personally recommend that you send your equipment out to be checked and adjusted every 3 years or so.

RE: 9CAPS Output
Thanks, Any idea what the guy at that field was measuring in "db"?
Futaba has it now, its only about 5 months old. I bought it for more functionality and reliability, 1 out of 2 aint bad I guess.
Am I lobbing one to the JR guys?
