Default 4EXA is haunted

Well, maybe not haunted. Just different, and aggrevating. I am setting up a tower trainer .40 for my girlfriend and installing a new Futaba 4EXA. IT TRANSMITS ELEVATOR ON CH. 3, THROTTLE ON CH. 2!!! You Futaba gurus should know that standard for Futaba for years has been elevator ch. 2, throttle ch. 3. This wouldn't bug me so much if it was only going to be used as a stand alone TX. But I want to use my 9C to buddy box, and using your noodle for a second will lead you to the conclusion that this is a MAJOR problem. Both radios are bought new, unmodified mode 2. The throttle ratchet is in the correct place on the 4EXA, just transmits ssa ****wkcab. (For those of you who've never truly understood typed jokes, turn that around)

Are all of the 4EXAs like that? Are all of the new Futaba TXs like this? Or am I just lucky enough to have received a retarded one?

I have rulled out the possibility that it is the receiver.

You are programed on one of three other stickmodes other than mode 11

Not to familiar with the Four EXA's but some of the newer Futaba's lower end computer Tx's you can program in four different stickmodes. Apparently its easy to change this without realizing it.

Hi Lomcevak Duck,

Your radio is set to the wrong stick mode. For example, Mode I has rudder and elevator on right and aileron and throttle on left. To change the mode:

Hold down the Mode and Select buttons while turning on the transmitter. A screen comes up that will show the number of the Mode that you are currently in, standard in the United States is mode "2". If it is not in Mode 2, correct it by pressing the Data Input key up once, then turn the transmitter off and on again to reset it.

I hope you find this information helpful. You can also reach our Futaba support team at 217-398-8970 opt 2, or via fax at 217-398-7721.
