Default Hitec "Feather" RX...How Good Of Range Do You Get?

I've got a Hitec Feather RX I traded for and was curious as to how good of range you get with this unit? I know it isn't listed at more than 500 feet or so but am curious just how far away people have flown it without loosing control? I've got an AP build I was thinking of throwing it on but don't know if I should trust it at the heights and ranges I'll be taking pictures at.

Mine was an early model and would not range check beyond 30 ft. Hitec finally replaced it with a 555. Your mileage may vary but I would definitely give it a good range check.

They are OK if there are no other transmitters on any channel turned on.

The feather is rated for 1000 feet. I have not flown mine out more than abuot 600. They tend to glitch a bit. I have 3. I don't recommend them.

It was replaced by the Hitec Micro 05S reciever which is rock solid.
