fdo300,
The Futaba square to JR phone jack may work. I read in Watt-Flyer that someone used this to connect a 9C to a DX6. does your DX-7 use a mono phone plug for the trainer connection.

Hi,

Apart from the physical difficulty of obtaining the suitable trainerlead, there is a much bigger difficulty to overcome : the difference in channel assignment.

Futaba, due to the transmitter sending the coded signal, uses on the output of the receiver the following channel assignment :
ch1 ailerons - ch2 elevator - ch3 throttle - ch4 rudder

however, JR/Spectrum uses on the output of the receiver the following channel assignment :
ch1 throttle - ch2 ailerons - ch3 elevator - ch4 rudder

So (assuming the 9C to be master) , when the Spectrum moves throttle (ch1), the coded signal goes to the 9C and is send to the receiver, where ch1 is used for ailerons...

For more info on that problem and eventual solutions to your problem, check-out my website (see signature) chapter 1, paragraph 1.6
But both transmitters beeing programmable-type TX, I am afraid that none of my solutions will be satisfactory.

The trainerlink from Horizon-Hobby can also change the channel assignment, but can only be used with JR/spectrum as master. Furthermore you will need an adaptorlead round-female-DIN to Futaba Square, which you will not find in shops

Oliver

I will use the Spektrum as a master and the 9C as a slave.
The hangar 9 trainer cord has a round connector to DIN connector and I need a square connector at the other end.
