I don't know about the 6, but on my 8UAP I have it slaved to the trainer switch. I land at low throttle, go to idle and when I'm ready to kill the engine I hit the trainer switch.

Default stop engine

i'm sure both radios have a 'throttle cut' option already built in, without having to use up mixes. it will probably be in the advanced menu. i know the 8 channel has cos i just checked. i don't have the 6 channel so i can't check.

There is no clean way to do it with the 6XAS.

I wonder if you can do a programable mix with the gear switch? I had one of these for a few months but never tried it.

Run it on the Futaba forum.

Sorry but the Futaba owner's forum seems to be at least temporarily defunct now that AnnMarie Cross does not work for Great Planes anymore.

If you don't use the gear channel, you can do a mix from channel 5 to throttle to create a cut. REMEMBER a few things....

1) the radio doesn't know your mix is for throttle cut and will ALWAYS operate.
2) the percent of the mx needs to be set to not over-cam your throttle servo.
3) you need to give up the elevator dual rate switch to do this.
To do so, Go into the programming and change the dual rates to all on a single switch. To do so, go into parameter menu (PARA), and then cursor over to Dual Rate Switch. DRDSW1 means that the elev dual rates are on the elevator dual rate switch. DRSW2 puts the elevator, rudder and aileron dual rates all together on the aileron dual rate switch.
4) IF YOU TURN THE ELEV DUAL RATE SWITCH OFF ACCIDENTALLY THE MIX IS DEAD.

To set up the mix, go to PMX1 (looks like PMX1+50% on the screen).
cursor until INH blinks. Make it say OFF (with the elevator dual rate switch in the up possition). Move the switch and it now says ON. LEAVE IT ON.
Cursor over until the arrow above the hcannel #s is blinking. + until it is over channel 5. (gear)
Cursor over until the arrobe below the channel #s is blinking. + until it is 3. (throttle).
Cursor over until the numbers are blinking. With the plane on but engine not running, pull throttle to idle. look at your carb. Pull hte gear switch. notice the carb probably goes WAYYYY open or the servo is crying its heart out trying to close it wayyyy tooo far. if it went way open, cursor to the + sign and change it to -. If it goes the right way, but too far, use the - key to decrease the percent. Every few percent, work the throttle servo open and shut again, until it doesn't bind.

Default Futabta & engine turn off

I read "amcross" description to turn off the engine by assigning the gear switch and i have several questions :
1) channel 5 is used for the second aileron servo. do i must use channel 5
2) i would prefer to use the elevator dual switch why it it important to use one switch for all dual rates.
3) can't i make a direct programing of the gear switch to perform the described throttle mix

thanks

1. channel 6 is for the second aileron servo when using flaperons. change to flaperons.
2. This radio is an entry level radio, it has lots of small limiations, like needing the dual rate switch to turn the mix on/off.
3. No, not without a high end radio like the 8U, 9C or 9Z. These radios have throttle cut easily built in without any special mixing of other channels needed.
