Default Radio control question

Would it be possible to have 6 completely independent motors operation on a radio system? Or does something have to by synchronized?
Eg radio: http://www.robotcombat.com/marketplace_rc_radioDX7.html <<< Is it possible to program this radio in such a way?

Dima,
Your question is not clear...

Are you wishing to run six motors, seperate of each other ?

Yes, I am hoping to reprogram the radio I linked into a system that will be able to control a robot, so as many individual channels there are, the better for my design. Would you say that’s possible to do?

Six channels will give you six simultaneous (nearly any way) controls.

What are you trying to accomplish?
Do you mean electric motors or IC engines?
Six wheels with individual speed control?
A few motors driving tracks and some other functions?

Default RE: Radio control question

My design is to have a tank drive(2 motors with mixed channels) then a robotic arm, 1 motor to turn the lower pivot and 1 motor to turn the higher pivot point, and one motor for the claw.
So, 2 motors have to be operated by mixed channels and 3 motors have to work completely independently, not being influenced in any way by the other power-consuming device.
I am not sure how those guys on battle bots made it so that their transmitters[fun fact-AIR transmitters] can do so much without more than 2 mixed channels. I am so confused, could anyone please explain?

P.S. I am using electric motors

Just ideas, I am not really familiar with what people use to run battle bots...

The tracks could probably use something like a "elevon"/"delta" or "V-tail" mix that comes stock with most computer airplane radios. That would be on the right stick. I suppose the track motors would have pretty regular Electronic Spees Controllers plugged to the receiver.

The arm joints could work independently, with the left stick. Is a switch (on/off or three position) sufficient to work the claw? These motors work more like servos. I have no idea of what sort of circuits you need to control them. I assume you need quite a bit of power from these too.

Thanks for the reply. I have actually come up with a nice 'custom' circuit where you use a globe motor (seriously geared down) with a nice ESC. For a limit switch, you can connect a 4-way switch to the contraption with a spring, so once the claw reaches a certain point it reverses direction not breaking anything. Thanks for the other information; it is valuable to me.
