Could someone tell me if you can setup flightmodes with this radio, is this what the triple rates do. And what I mean by flightmodes is, when you flip one switch all your rates change, not just one. Thanks, Daz...

No, it will not do flight conditions like a 9ZAP will. You can however put your triple rates to one switch, in effect changing all the rates on one switch. A flight condition goes beyond this by allowing you to change mixes, expos, rates, throttle curves, etc etc etc with the flip of a switch. The switch assignability makes the 9C superior to the JR 8. Only in the ZAP is that kind of assignability really found, even the 10X has fixed switch positions.

The 9CAP has "throttle cut", and it has a function that's called "idle down", this is in the acro mode.
Throttle hold is found in the heli mode. Specifically the settings are found in the "heli specific"advanced menu. A few more nights reading my manual and I can tell you more. I've been paying more attention to the acro functions.
The diff in the CAP and CHP is in the default settings, both have same software/programming included though.
There are also 3 basic modes on each, Acro, Glider, Heli.
Yes all switches are assignable. If your dual-rate function is assigned to a 3position switch it thereby becomes triple-rate, so assign all surfaces to same switch and you have one switch for all.
This can also be done on the 6XA's and the 6XAS's though, and the 8U's as well, as far as having all rates on one switch.

Oh yes, the 6XAS is a leader in it's class. I sold one of mine XAS's and replaced it with the 9C though due to a need for the triple rates, timers, and several other features for my Giants. I still have one XA and one XAS, and probably will keep them around for a while.
I know for fact I won't need anymore radios for a looong time.
Glad you got things straightened out Dazz.
