JR Announces 2.4Ghz 12 channel & 9 channel radio. X9303 and 12X

BREAKING NEWS! RCU EXCLUSIVE FIRST LOOK
JR 2.4GHz Programmable Systems
JR® is pleased to announce two new pro-class, programmable aircraft systems—the
9-channel X9303 2.4 which is coming this summer, followed by the 12-channel 12X this fall. Both will feature all the software sophistication JR is known for, PLUS the no-pins, no-crystals, no-glitches convenience and security of proven DSM2™ 2.4GHz technology by Spektrum™.
DSM2: 2.4GHz RC Technology with a Flawless Record
Unlike ordinary spread spectrum ICs, the unique chip that’s the basis for Spektrum’s 2.4GHz technology was developed specifically for RC by an avid aircraft modeler who wanted to create a robust, ultra-reliable RF link that would be immune to glitches and interference. This chip combined with Spektrum’s patent-pending DSM/DSM2 protocols, and the built-in redundancy of its DuaLink™ technology, have been the biggest revolution in RC flying since the advent of digital proportional control. It’s proven 2.4GHz technology that JR is proud to adopt––technology that’s been used with unprecedented success by thousands of RC car and airplane modelers since 2005.
Complete Integration Means Faster Response and Added Precision
Because DSM2™ technology has essentially been “built-in” to these new JR systems there is no processing time lag as there would be with a module based system. In fact, you will experience response times that are faster than any PCM system in existence. You will also enjoy two other exclusive DSM2 features you will wonder how you ever lived without—ModelMatch™ and ServoSync™.
ModelMatch puts an end to “wrong model” mishaps by preventing the receiver from responding until you select the memory settings matched to the model you’re going to fly. ServoSync automatically resequences transmitted data bits so that mixed servos receive their pulses in direct sequence. No longer will you have to endure split second differences in CCPM or dual elevator servo movement. All servos will move as if on the same channel so you can fly with absolute precision.
Complete Compatibility with Spektrum Brand DSM Receivers
If you already own a Spektrum brand radio system you will be pleased to know that both of these new systems will work with any DSM receivers you already have, including the AR6000, AR6100, AR7000 and AR9000. So, when the time comes to move up to more channels you’ll be set.
X9303 2.4 9-Channel DSM2 Aircraft System—Available Summer ‘07
As the foundation for an advanced, full-range, spread spectrum radio, it’s hard to imagine a more ideal candidate than JR’s XP9303.
A breakthrough in versatility and flexibility when it was introduced, the 9-channel, 30-model memory, 3-model type 9303 is an enormously popular radio upgrade for flyers whose skills have outgrown sport-class equipment. With software shaped by the input of top airplane, sailplane and heli pilots, plus its exclusive rolling ease and speed of programming, the 9303 remains the standard by which all 9-channel radios are judged.
And now, with the added convenience and security of Spektrum DSM2 2.4GHz technology, the newly-designated X9303 2.4 is destined to be a breakthrough once more.
Spektrum engineers have even incorporated technology that permits owners of conventional XP9303 radios to transfer all of their model programming data from their transmitters directly to their new X9303 2.4 transmitters.
JRP2910 X9303 2.4 Airplane/Sailplane DSM2 System Street Price: $729.99
JRP2920 X9303 2.4 Heli DSM2 System Street Price: $729.99
12X 12-Channel DSM2 Aircraft System—Available Fall ‘07
Big-scale and jet modelers as well as anyone else flying complex applications will love the new JR 12X.
The pro-class 12X will combine airplane and heli programming in a single transmitter. All programming functions will be easily adjusted using JR’s exceptionally intuitive Rolling Selector input system. Plus, its big, high-resolution dot matrix display will allow you to see the adjustments you make with absolute clarity.

I'm glad I held off on the DX-7.
If the price of the 12 channel isn't too high (about the same as the 10x) I will be first in line.

It was only a matter of time, and I'm glad that they "adopted" the proven Spektrum technology. You just know that Spektrum made a deal; Spektrum's technology for JR packaging, and vice/versa. It's a win win situation for everybody.

Great news in my oppinion. Not only is the 2.4gig a great way to go, the MODEL MATCH in it's self is a good reason to purchase either one of the new systems. I own the DX-7, by Horizon Hobby, which has the MODEL MATCH and it has saved several models from being junk before their time.
With JR jumping into the 2.4gighz field, it just goes to show that this type of system is here to stay.

Anyone know if the 9303 2.4GHz is a normal 9303 with the recently release 9ch module or is the DSM integrated like on the DX7?

Sorry RCU but this is not an exclusive, and I did not hear it here first; this information was published earlier on the "flying giants" website. [sm=red_smile.gif]
However, it is very exciting news none the less.

I think this is a new version of the 9303, not just adding the modules. From the Horizon page:
Instead of settling for a 2.4GHz module adaptation to accomplish spread spectrum capability, JR has incorporated DSM2 as an integral feature of the X9303 2.4. Consequently, there’s no added processing time.

The modules are marketed by Horizon Hobby. The new NEW 9303 2.4 is marketed by JR. There is a difference. I am waiting on the 2.4 module for my 10x also. The draw back, if it is one, is that the module system won't have the MODEL MATCH or SERVO SYNC feature. I guess it is a bit slower due to the processing to the module. I am sure I won't know a few Mill sec difference in speed of the processor. I just like the way you can set up the 10X with the on screen touch inputs. Change is hard for this old guy. But then again the 12X also has the two extra ch.

Damn damn damn JR. Have always had and loved Futaba but there offerings of a 6 channel and a 14 are both extremes in both function and price. Spektrums offerings wer just under the mark but a 9 channel setup is my maximum need. Looks like it might be a trip to JR town and wave goodbye to Futaba for 2.4ghz. ( and I am not talking about Mr Ewing down at Dallas either!!!)

I'll stick with my trusty 10x for another year two. With more and more people jumping the spektrum band-waggon, it's better for the rest of us who stick with old school.

Believe me this system has a clocking crystal, only way to have syn. or pll frequency tuning. Just my 2 cents worth

Hmm, no modules for existing radios... Sorry, I'm not getting rid of my 10X... Thanks JR for attempting to make my existing Tx obsolete... Looks like one of the other players in this market space will be getting my business...

12X is what I've been looking for. Fall 2007 is a long time off though...think I will get the module for my 10X since the 12X will work with the AR9000 receivers when the 12X comes out.
