Default Hitec and 2.4GHz

I have a Hitec Optic 6 transmitter and want to convert to 2.4GHz. I've been told that 2.4GHz RF modules from other manufacturers will fit and work fine. Which one?

Anybody done this and/or can you direct me?

Thx,

Dick

I have the XPS module in mine and it works fine. The only thing you have to be careful of is how the antenna is mounted since the Hitec module is upside down compared to a Futaba module.

Thanks for the reply. I assume you mean the Airtronix 2.4GHz DSS Module.

Unlikely since Airtronics doesn't make a module.

They mean http://www.xtremepowersystems.net/ XPS.

2.4 GHz modules for most brands.

This is the one for the Hitec transmitters:

[8D]Sounds great. I have the Hitec Eclipse. However, are my Hitec servo
and rx battery connectors compatible with the XPS rx??

Absolutely! They are standard receiver connections that are compatible with Hitec, JR, Airtronics Z, etc.

Currently I am using Hitec. Airtronics Z and Spektrum servos with XPS receivers

The alternative would be to try Spektrum or Futaba modules.

Mike Mayberry, Hitec customer support, says the Spektrum modules have been tested and work fine. They will not hurt the warranty for any of the Hitec trasmitters. He said that the Futaba modules should also work, but at the time he wrote that message he had not tested one.

Since the Futaba pins are on opposite ends of the TX space I believe the Futaba 2.4 module would have the 2.4 antenna in poor position, so probably not recommended. As I understand it.

Convert the radio to mode 1, and reverse all channels. And fly with the radio upside down.
