Default Best Gyro for nose wheel steering

Hello my fellow RC fanatics:

I recently purchased a Skymaster F-16 1:6 scale and I am hoping to pair a JR DS8411 servo for use as steering with a Gyro. Which one you anyone reccommend?

For nose steering, don't think its critical which gyro, as longs as its not running in heading hold mode. I have used Futaba 401, expert gyro and GWS one. No need for anything expensive...

On a plane, the best gyro to use for nose wheel steering is your left hand. Practice, practice, practice. [8D]

If a gyro is'nt really neccassary for nose wheel steering on a front raked-style nose wheel, would one be neccessary on the rudder?

No. Again, practice, practice, practice. I tried a gyro on my 1/4 Fokker Dr.1 and didn't like it. The gyro didn't respond fast enough or with enough control movement to stop the unwanted turn. So, I simply practiced my takeoffs until I could nail a straight run every time. It was a LOT more satisfying that way, too. Something I did, not something an electronic device did.

Thanks for you advice. It makes sense if you analyze it. If you practice, you should be able to be better at nailing the straight ways...

If you needed gyros in model airplanes, they would be legal in sanctioned competitions.

The small cost of a gyro is a well deserved investment for a turbine jet. You want anything that can help to keep the model straight while takeoff and any uneven braking.
Seen a few $$$ go down the drain because of that, since its harder to stop with a turbine plane.
Btw, gyros are legal in certain competitions (i.e. World Jet Masters).

We went through the same thing, they tried to outlaw them in competition. Of course that was back in the 70s I guess the airplane folks need to catch up with the times.
